No Surprises Act Disclosure
At A Plus Community Counseling Services, we believe in transparency and providing our clients with clear information regarding the cost of their mental health care. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
What is a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees, as well as your scheduled counseling sessions.
How to Handle Discrepancies
If you are billed significantly more than your estimate, you have the right to initiate a dispute resolution process. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
